Serco Yoshimura Yamaha’s Jake Moss is on the verge of capturing his first overall round win in the Pro Lites category of the Rockstar Energy MX Nationals, focused on getting back to his best this weekend.

Moss missed the opening round of the season and then struggled through a shoulder injury in the early rounds, but now heads to Wodonga this weekend as a clear favourite for the victory after sealing three podiums in succession.

“When you miss a round, it takes the championship out of the question,” Moss admitted. “So while the other riders are focusing on championship points, my goal has been to get back to the front, ride the speed I know I can and start winning races.

“Each round has been better for me and I think a race and round win isn’t too far away and if I put together a strong finish in the final three rounds, then the championship result will look after itself.”

Moss now sits 12th in the standings, quickly inching toward a top 10 result as the series reaches its final stages.
