MX1 Motocross World Championship point leader Clement Desalle will attempt to salvage vital championship points when he contests the Grand Prix of Sweden this weekend despite suffering a dislocated shoulder last Sunday.
Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1’s Desalle will take part in the Grand Prix of Sweden this weekend, round eight of 15 in the FIM Motocross World Championship, still recovering from the shoulder injury he suffered last week at Tongeren in the Belgian championship.
Although the Belgian will not know the extent of his possibilities as far as the race is concerned at Uddevalla, he feels strong and confident to make the trip to northern Europe.
“Of course this is bad luck but a part of the sport we must accept,” commented team principal Sylvain Geboers. “We won’t know what Clement will be able to achieve this weekend but the fact that he feels he can try is a good sign.
“It is not in his character to give up easily, as we saw last year, and for sure he won’t let any chance of this title go without a fight.”
Desalle has caused minor damage to the joint that was briefly put out of place, similar to the ailment suffered at Valkenswaard last year.
On that occasion he was able to win the Grand Prix of Portugal two weeks later.
