The action sports touring sensation, Nitro Circus Live, has just finished two hugely successful tours throughout New Zealand as well as in regional centres on the East Coast of Australia, with 183,628 fans witnessing the incredible show.
The tour which was headed up by 17 time X Games medalist Travis Pastrana and a number of the best action sports stars on the planet blew audiences away at every show and produced a number of world first feats.
The promoter of Nitro Circus Live, Michael Porra, said he continues to be blown away by the reaction to the tour and couldn’t be more pleased with all of the athletes involved in the show.
“Nitro Circus Live is no doubt the most spectacular live action sports show ever produced and the fan reaction we have had to date is amazing,” he said.
“This wouldn’t be possible without the incredible line up of action sports stars that put their body on the line at every show to push the boundaries and throw down the biggest tricks for their fans.
“The amount of world firsts that were coming out of the crew at nearly every show is simply mind blowing and Australian and New Zealand fans have been lucky to see this tour before the rest of the world.”
Some of the world first feats performed during the tour included a wheelchair front flip by Aaron ’Wheelz’ Fotheringham, a BMX double front flip no hander and double front superman flip by Andy Buckworth who also attempted the first ever triple front flip, a BMX body varial named the Special Flip by Greg Powell aka Special Greg, as well as a BMX back flip triple tail whip by Jaie Toohey.
Of the Freestyle Motocross riders, am FMX front flip 360 was landed by Mark Monea and a body varial, heel clicker over 75 feet was done by Clint Moore.
These world firsts were complemented by the whole crew performing the biggest and baddest tricks in every repertoire in action sports as well as death-defying attempts at new tricks and stunts performed on the wildest wheeled contraptions ever seen.
Nitro Circus Live was created through a partnership between the creators of Nitro Circus and Australian based sports marketing and events company, Global Action Sports.
The first ever tour in Australia in 2010 became the highest grossing action sports show in Australian history with almost 120,000 tickets sold.
The tour will now take a two month break in preparation for its North American debut in Las Vegas in June.
