Three new red plate holders will debut at Appin this weekend for the second round of the MX Nationals series on Sunday.

While current Pro Open national number two Billy Mackenzie has taken over the red plate indicating his status as title leader following victory at Broadford, triple defending champion Jay Marmont has reverted to white backgrounds all-round on his CDR Rockstar Energy Yamaha.

Mackenzie’s Monster Energy Kawasaki team is yet to unveil his new colours on the number 211 KX450F.

No red plates were featured on track at Broadford’s season opener in the Pro Lites or Under 19s categories as current champions PJ Larsen and Josh Cachia have moved on from their respective classes.

Matt Moss and the JDR Motorex KTM team have mounted red plates all-round for Sunday.

This weekend though, Matt Moss will debut red plates on the front and sides of his factory JDR Motorex KTM, the 2009 series champion sporting his familiar number 102 this season.

Moss won the opening round in a JDR Motorex KTM clean-sweep ahead of teammates Brenden Harrison and Josh Cachia in Victoria.

A new rider to compete with the red plate is Under 19s winner Luke Arbon, the GYTR Rockstar Energy Yamaha rider featuring a red number 54 front plate aboard his YZ250F.

Arbon entered 2011 as a title favourite for what will be his final season in the development category, living up to expectations at Broadford with a popular win.
