Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings has stamped his authority in the 2018 MXGP World Championship, earning his fourth-consecutive 1-1 scorecard – his seventh of the year – at France’s 10th round on the weekend in Saint Jean d’Angely.

The Dutchman again pieced together two incredible motos, leading from start to finish in race one, while the second moto saw him acquire the lead in the dying stages of the 18-lap affair.

Fellow Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider and defending champion Antonio Cairoli once again wound up second overall for the weekend with 3-2 race results, beating home former world champion Tim Gajser (Honda HRC) in third.

Just one point shy of the podium was Clement Desalle (Monster Energy Kawasaki Factory Racing), while French favourite Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing) concluded the first five.

In the MX2 category, it was Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado who was credited the win after equalling points with Thomas Covington (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing), the pair trading 1-3 finishes, however with Prado securing the final race win, he was rewarded with the top spot.

Thomas Kjer Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) completed the podium in third, followed by Jago Geerts (Kemea Yamaha Official MX2) and defending champion Pauls Jonass (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing). Australian Hunter Lawrence (Team 114 Motorsports Honda) was 10th for the round with 6-13 race results.

Fellow Aussie and younger brother Jett Lawrence (Suzuki) charged to 22nd overall in the EMX250 division, with the French stop marking round six of the European Motocross Championship. The next stop on the MXGP World Championship calendar is scheduled for 17 June at Ottobiano in Italy.
