EMX250 standout Jake Cannon will enter the entire SX2 championship with Penrite Racing GO24 Kawasaki under the guidance of longtime international Brett Metcalfe.

The highly-rated Queensland teenager will continue to develop his supercross craft in AUSX 2025 while making his professional debut in Redcliffe.

“I’m really excited for Jake’s return to Australia,” Metcalfe explained. “His future in the GP championship looks solid and I’m proud to have him join us here for supercross. He wants to continue his growth and craft as a rider and I believe it’s a great choice to keep his skills progressing during AUSX and we’re stoked to have him on!”

Cannon added: “I’ve only had two days riding SX this week before round one, so not a lot of prep time. I’m a racer and always want to compete well, but I’m more so looking at this five-round championship as a building block and push towards the front each round.”

After clinching the national MX3 title last year, he finished P2 in SX3 prior to signing with Bud Racing Kawasaki for the EMX250 championship this season.
