Ankle injury sustained in pre-season keeps SX1 contender sidelined.
KTM Racing Team’s Nathan Crawford has been ruled out of the opening two rounds of the 2025 Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, with an ankle injury sustained in the pre-season keeping the SX1 contender sidelined for Redcliffe.
After a standout ProMX campaign that saw him earn P2 in the MX1 standings, Crawford entered AUSX leading the charge for the official KTM program.
An incident while training, however, will force the 28-year-old out of Queensland’s double-header this weekend, with both he and the team targeting a return to racing at round three inside Sharks Stadium, Cronulla, on October 25.
“I’m definitely disappointed to be missing the opening rounds at Redcliffe, but after the ankle injury in the pre-season, we just want to make sure I’m back to 100 percent before lining up again,” Crawford told MotoOnline.
“I’ve been back on the bike recently and feeling stronger every day, but after chatting with the team, we’ve decided it’s best to sit this one out and focus on returning at Cronulla. I can’t wait to be back behind the gate and mixing it up with the boys soon.”
Crawford finished 14th in last year’s AUSX SX1 championship after being absent from the opening two rounds in Redcliffe, with a wrist injury sustained outdoors impacting his overall result.
