Overall winner here today, Jed Beaton. Take us through your thoughts here on the weekend.

Yeah, all in all, a positive weekend for me. I was fastest in qualifying, fastest in superpole. Got the moto one win and then yeah, I was pushing for it at the end there and pretty much just one of them things that like all the other rounds. I mean, for me, I felt good on the bike. I felt like that last moto, I was making a push and then I’d make a mistake and then he’d get a gap and I’d make a push again. I felt like I was faster, but yeah, just couldn’t make it happen. There was one point where I probably could have really made it happen, but it would have probably ended up in him going down. It’s just one of those things – I definitely think I had the speed.

Take us through moto two, that cat and mouse, pulling each other back. I know you want to go for the win every time you’re on the track. In that moment, do you know you’ve got the overall, or are you going for the win?

I’m just going for it, you know. We had a pretty decent gap to third. If you were going to make a mistake and go down, I think we had enough time to get back up and still be in second, so I was definitely going for it. Like I said, I felt like I was a bit faster. But yeah, just unfortunate that I didn’t make it happen. But also didn’t want to do anything dirty as well. Like I said, it is disappointing, but at the same time, could have been a few more points, but I felt like I rode good.

I think you’ve got it to 15 points now. There are three rounds to go, gaining more points like you did today, not losing any points, does the confidence build each time?

Yeah. I think at the end of the day, the last three rounds are going to go really quick. We haven’t got much time in between them all, so they’re just going to get smashed out as fast as they’re going to come, really. So we’re not really going to get too much time in between to do heaps more riding and stuff. It’s just going to be going to the races and going for it. In the end of the day, it’s close. Like I said, I’m going to be going for it, and I think Kyle is going to be going for it – it’s just going to be a battle to the end.

Last question, the track here this weekend – thoughts on it?

Yeah, I feel like half the track is really good, and then the other half is a bit sketchy, but it’s the same for every track. They have their good and bad. It got rough, and at the end of the day, rough is what separates us a little bit, and I think the rougher it gets, the better it is, for sure.

One more question, just because I like this topic, and it’s been coming up quite a lot. Motocross of Nations, you and Kyle both would 100 percent put your hands up to go. For you, would you ride a 250?

Yeah, if you obviously get selected to go and represent your country, you’re not going to say no. We obviously both put an application in, and they’re going to choose who they think is best, and I’m happy to ride a 250. Obviously, with a 250, it’s a lot to do with equipment and what you can get. So I think if I got selected, it’ll be, I don’t know, everyone will have to organise that.

When was the last time you rode a 250? It would have been a long while ago, right? Can we borrow Kingsford’s during the week and go do some laps, and we’ll gauge it with a social experiment?

We’ll put the spring rates up a bit, and then just have a go on it. But, no, I think in the end of the day, like I said, if you get selected, you’re not going to say no, and we’ll just see what comes of it. I’m excited to go, I’m keen to go.

Well, you’re looking at spending some time over there at some Pro Motocross races at the end of the season. Is that right?

Yeah, for sure. I mean, that would be cool, but I think that’s all a part of doing the nations, whether that’s organised or not. So, I can’t have too much of a plan until they select a team.

Well, it gets to the point soon where you guys need to jump on supercross and get ready. If you do get the call-up, and you go to nations, are you still in for supercross?

Yeah, for sure. I think I can mix it up a little bit, ride some supercross and motocross at the same time. Nothing too crazy, you know what I mean? Like we’ve done, how many hours of motocross this year, and then obviously just rolling it over into supercross.

Hey, good job today. We’ll see you in Canberra, mate.

Yeah, thank you!

Alex Larwood, man, you came alive on this Warwick track and got the win. Take us through the day for you.

Yeah, started off the day P4 in qualifying. It’s probably my second second-best qualifying of the year. Then ended up going 2-1 moto scores. First moto, I didn’t get the greatest start, but sort of charged way through the pack pretty quickly, then was in a bit of a bulldog fight towards the end there. But I was able to pinch my way in the second. And then the second race, I got off to a half-decent start and ended up having another fight with [Noah Ferguson] towards the end, he was riding really well, but I managed to grab the overall win. So really happy with my day, hopefully we can sort of start to tick off the end of this championship really good.

Is it conditions like these that you find yourself coming alive? Because, you were moving in both those motos.

Honestly, I’m not really sure, but I felt good today on the bike. I don’t really know, I just was gelling really well with the track, and it sort of all came together.

Championship so far for you. It’s been a lot of positives, obviously a big positive today. Do you really feel like you can build from this and keep it going?

Yeah, for sure. I feel like I had to turn the back end of this championship around here today. I feel like I did that and marked my step. So yeah, I’m looking forward to the end of the series, and hopefully we can keep ending up on that podium.

Congratulations, mate. Awesome ride, and we’ll see you in Canberra.

Thank you.
