A series of post-race penalties have again impacted the MX2 category of the 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship following Traralgon, with Byron Dennis denied of a round podium and Alex Larwood also demoted this evening.

Dennis had raced to 3-2 scores on track and was awarded the second-place trophy on the podium, but a three-position penalty applied after the fact bumped him to fourth overall.

Both KTM Racing Team’s Dennis and Alex Larwood (NFAL Honda Racing) were docked three positions in the moto two results sheet for jumping where a yellow flag had been deployed. Video footage was reviewed and interviews conducted prior to race direction imposing the final decisions, according to ProMX management.

Dennis’ misfortune meant that Ryder Kingsford (Monster Energy Yamalube Yamaha) took over the runner-up position, while KTM teammate Noah Ferguson was elevated onto the podium on countback after tying on points for P3. Larwood, meanwhile, went from third to sixth in moto two, resulting in P5 overall.

There was also a post-race investigation in relation to MX1 title rivals Kyle Webster (Boost Mobile Honda Racing) – overall winner of round four – and Jed Beaton (Monster Energy CDR Yamaha) for a similar yellow-flag infringement in the premier class’ final encounter, but multiple video reviews resulted in no further action being taken.
