Triple Australian champion Charli Cannon will enter the 2025 American Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) after being drafted in by Quad Lock Honda, set to debut at Fox Raceway in Friday’s season-opening round.

Cannon – who rides for Honda Racing at home, also under the ownership of Yarrive Konsky – has gained support from American Honda for the excursion, set to take on the United States’ leading female motocross racers.

“I’m not at 100 percent, but I’ve trained too hard and come too far not to line up,” Cannon explained, coming off a recent injury while training. “Like every professional rider, I’ll manage the pain, stay smart, and aim to collect as many points as possible in the early rounds. I’m racing for the championship, not just a single round. I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”

Quad Lock Honda team principal Martin Davalos added: “Charli is the real deal. I’ve seen her ride – she’s fast, focused, and fearless. As a father of a young daughter, I want to show her and girls everywhere that anything is possible. We’re proud to have Charli on the team.”

WMX will begin at Pala on Friday, May 23, before the six-round series also features races at Hangtown (May 30), Thunder Valley (June 6), Ironman (August 8), Unadilla (August 15) and Budds Creek (August 22). Cannon’s national title defence at home will continue with Toowoomba (July 27) and Queensland Moto Park (August 2-3) across the final two rounds of the ProMX season.

Cannon captained Team Australia to victory in the FIM Oceania Women’s Motocross Championship at Wonthaggi in March, dominating all three motos on home soil ahead of American duo Jordan Jarvis – a two-time champion in the US – and Lachlan Turner, who is the defending American WMX champion.
