Adjustment to 2025 championship calendar made official by MA.
Canberra will return to the Penrite ProMX Championship in 2025 after round six was relocated from Nowra to the nation’s capital, maintaining its original date of July 6.
It had been rumoured since Appin’s second round of the series last month that Nowra would be dropped from the calendar, with organisers finally confirming the move this morning.
“The decision was made due to circumstances beyond the control of the Nowra District Motorcycle Club, which meant that hosting the event was no longer possible,” an announcement from Motorcycling Australia (MA) confirmed. “ProMX management would like to thank the club for its efforts and we hope to return at some stage in the future.”
MA events manager Richard Millott added: “We are very happy to be headed to Canberra for round six and our thanks goes to the ACT Motorcycle Club for welcoming the ProMX Championship. It’s going to be an excellent spectacle, and we look forward to seeing the riders, teams and fans enjoy the event in the ACT.”
ProMX last visited Canberra as round two in its inaugural season during the shortened three-round 2021 season, where eventual champions Luke Clout (MX1) and Kyle Webster (MX2) claimed victory on their way to the titles on that occasion.
