A crowdfunding campaign has been launched in memory of the late Joel Evans, who tragically lost his life at the Gillman ProMX round and with his fiancée, Michaela, due to welcome their son this October.

An outpouring of tributes and support have been posted across social media since the Queenslander’s passing at 30 years of age on Sunday, with a GoFundMe account since created to support Joel’s family.

Evans was contesting the third round of the Australian motocross championship in the premier MX1 category when he fell in moto two, sadly succumbing to injuries from the incident.

A decade earlier in 2015, Evans had been left seriously injured – an without feeling from below the neck for some time – from a crash at the Murray Bridge circuit also situated in South Australia, before making a miraculous comeback and going on to establish himself among the sport’s elite on a national level.

Evans had built a career on his documenting his ‘Privateer to Pro’ journey through a vastly popular YouTube channel and prominent social media activities, in addition to his ability of delivering on-track both at home on a domestic level and overseas.

All donations in support of Michaela and the Evans family in memory of Joel can be made at this GoFundMe link.
