KTM Racing Team has revealed that Nathan Crawford will sit out the opening two rounds of the 2024 Fox Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) while still recovering from surgery on his wrist injury picked up in the final stages of ProMX.

Crawford will instead set his sights on Wollongong’s third round of the season on Saturday, November 2, where he should be fit to rejoin teammate Kayden Minear.

“It’s disappointing to be missing the first two rounds this weekend, especially being somewhat of a home round for me, but Kyle [Blunden, KTM Racing Team Manager] and I made the decision to get some more bike time before we go racing,” Crawford commented.

“I’ve been back on the bike for about a week now. Everything has healed up well and is feeling good since I had surgery on my wrist, but we’re going to log some more laps and get more seat time so that we’re ready to race at Wollongong.”

While he is back training on his KTM 450 SX-F, the decision has been made for him to delay his first appearance in SX1 as part of the KTM Racing Team. Crawford finished third in the SX2 title chase one year ago and has immense supercross credentials, which will bode well for when he makes his anticipated 2024 debut next month.
