ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing has named Will Dennett as the effective replacement of Josh Green for the 2024 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) alongside the returning Kyron Bacon.

Dennett will enter E2 on the new WR450F after clinching the EJ title this season, while 2022 outright winner Bacon will remain in E1 for another season.

“I have been a Yamaha rider for a long time and it’s awesome that I have been able to work my way up through the ranks with their support and make it to the premier team,” Dennett commented. “Last year was awesome for me and it was topped off when AJ [Roberts] called at the end of the season and offered me a ride. I’m not sure who was more stoked – me or my dad.

“I have to keep working hard and I have big shoes to fill with Josh retiring, but I’m looking forward to it. The extra support from the team gives me more time to ride and train, my bikes will be better prepared, and I have worked hard over the off-season to improve my riding and fitness, so I will be ready for the opening rounds.”

Yamaha’s support once again extends to the Yamaha JGR Ballard’s Off-Road Racing team led by defending EW champion Jess Gardiner, who will be joined in the class by Danielle McDonald this season, and Jeremy Carpentier will return in the E2 ranks.

The bLU cRU support program of E1 number one Cooper Sheidow and Jett Yarnold will continue, as will the GYTR Yamaha Junior Racing program of Marcus Nowland and Harley Hutton.
