Fox Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) red plate-holders Dean Wilson and Max Anstie have topped qualifying at Marvel Stadium, the Honda Racing duo leading SX1 and SX2 respectively into the night show.

Wilson (Froth Honda Racing) narrowly edged practice pace-setter Luke Clout (CDR Yamaha Monster Energy), while teammate Josh Hill – the only rider mathematically able to stop Wilson from clinching the title, was third.

Five-time SX1 champion Justin Brayton (Boost Mobile Honda Racing) qualified fourth, and riding with a cracked shoulder he sustained in Newcastle was the final rider within the 48s bracket, as Kyle Webster (Boost Mobile Honda Racing) was P5.

Boom Racing Fox Husqvarna racer Dylan Wills posted the sixth quickest time, leading Joel Wightman (Yamaha), Robbie Marshall (Husqvarna), Empire Kawasaki fill-in Lawson Bopping and Jackson Richardson (Kawasaki).

Continuing his dominant SX2 form, Anstie secured the first gate pick ahead of tonight’s racing with a blistering 48.296s, in front of teammate Todd in a Honda Racing 1-2.

The leading duo were the only riders in the class to enter the 48s bracket, as Canadian Cole Thompson notched a 49.435s to qualify third fastest, with KTM Racing Team’s Nathan Crawford and Robbie Wageman (WBR Yamaha) inside the top five.

Reid Taylor (Husqvarna) delivered a solid session to land P6, leading Jayce Cosford (Yamalube Yamaha Racing), Newcastle podium-finisher Kaleb Barham (Yamalube Yamaha Racing), Rhys Budd (Serco Yamaha) and Kingsford in positions seven through to 10.
