Queensland-based distributor Serco celebrated its 50th anniversary in an event on the Gold Coast last weekend, the milestone evening attracting a wide assortment of industry identities, including a mixture of international partners of the business.

Serco was formed by Tony and Kathy Eales – pictured below with Ron Henderson – in 1973 and has since established itself as one of the leading companies within the motorcycle industry, collectively led by renowned motorsport identity Gavin Eales over the past couple of decades.

The celebration took place at Sanctuary Cove’s Intercontinental Resort, hosting guests from an assortment of US-operated product suppliers – pictured with Gavin above – that Serco distributes locally, including Hinson Racing, Matrix Concepts, Seven MX, Yoshimura and 100%.

There was also a who’s who of the local industry in attendance, including current and past staff members of Serco’s distribution business and the high-profile Serco Motorsport motocross/supercross organisation.

Serco is widely recognised for its domestic motorsport activities, with Gavin himself a former top-level drag-racer, while also maintaining interests in speedway and other forms of racing over an extended period.

Its longstanding motocross and supercross team has achieved no less than nine professional Australian championships, collectively, since forming in the early 2000s and has largely leveraged the products distributed for over 20 years of competition.
