A base version of the 2024 MXGP World Championship calendar has been released, set to span 20 rounds from early March to the end of September next year.

Villa La Angostura will again host the season-opening motos, with next year’s campaign to get underway with the MXGP of Argentina between 9-10 March.

Back-to-back grand prix events are scheduled for Sardegna and Trentino, leading into a triple-header in Portugal, Spain, and France that will mark the comeback of Saint Jean d’Angely. Early June will witness another triple-header, featuring the Liqui Moly MXGP of Germany, Latvia, and a location that will be confirmed, rounding out the first half of the season.

Continuing the tradition from the previous year, the MXGP paddock will travel to Asia in late June for a thrilling double header in Sumbawa-Indonesia, and Lombok- Indonesia, before a return to Europe leading up to the season finals in Italy, between 13-15 September with the venue not yet announced.

Both round 10, set to take place between 15-16 June, and round 19, scheduled for 14-15 September are TBC in terms of country and venue. Round two, set for 23-24 March will be contested in Europe, with an exact country and venue also TBC.

It was suggested that an Australian event could return to the MXGP calendar in 2024, but with round 10 slated to host the European-based EMX125 and EMX250 races, it appears increasingly unlikely that it will eventuate next year.

Finally, the 77th edition of the Motocross of Nations (MXoN) will be held at Matterley Basin, United Kingdom, between 4-6 October next year.
