A WSX Singapore Grand Prix has been officially confirmed on the 2023 World Supercross Championship (WSX) schedule, with round three of this year’s series to take place at National Stadium.

Following a two-round ‘pilot’ season in 2022, a provisional six-round calendar was revealed late last year, which included an event in Asia, but the specific location wasn’t confirmed.

Today’s latest announcement reveals Singapore as the host for that round, with the third stop of WSX 2023 to take place on 30 September, jointly promoted between SX Global and Lushington Entertainments – organiser of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix.

“Singapore is a fantastic location for the World Supercross Championship because it’s one of the world’s travel hubs and is central to huge masses of the population throughout Asia, and its National Stadium provides the ideal venue to stage a round of championship racing,” said SX Global CEO Adam Bailey.

“Within a three-hour flight of Singapore are the world’s largest motorcycle markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, making South-East Asia an extremely important region for the World Supercross Championship as we continue to expand our global footprint.

“Partnering with Lushington Entertainments is a huge opportunity for the championship and for supercross as a whole. We are thrilled to be working with the same team that helms the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, the original night race that set the benchmark for combining on-track activity with world-class entertainment and music acts.

The 2023 World Supercross Championship (WSX) will commence at Villa Park, Birmingham on 1 July. A number of riders have been named ahead of this season, headlined by defending WSX champion Ken Roczen.
