Honda Racing’s Kyle Webster has made it back-to-back victories at the AMX MX Open while Nathan Crawford (KTM Racing Team) delivered a strong showing to capture the Pro Lites overall at Wonthaggi.

Webster won three from four motos on his way to taking the Pro Open title, with returning international and teammate Jed Beaton claiming the chequered flag first in moto two and ultimately finishing second overall. Completing the top three was Dylan Wood who makes the switch to Honda for 2023.

In the Pro Lites Crawford too won three from four, with new MX2 teammate and graduating Australian MX3 and junior champion Kayden Minear securing second overall with 2-3-3-3 results. Freshly-minted Honda Racing rider Brodie Connolly rounded out the overall podium, taking a victory in moto three.

Notably, Ryder Kingsford (WBR Yamaha) and Alex Larwood (Yamalube Yamaha Racing) made their racing returns from injury, the pair finishing fifth and sixth overall respectively behind Noah Ferguson (GasGas Racing Team). Larwood was in contention for an overall podium but a zero-points haul in moto three proved costly.

The MX3 class saw Byron Dennis (GasGas) claim the overall honours, ahead of Kayd Kingsford (Yamaha) and Ky Woods (GasGas). Taylah McCutcheon again was victorious in the Women’s category, this time in Empire Kawasaki colours, leading Honda Racing duo Tahlia O’Hare and Emma Milesevic.
