Honda Racing’s Kyle Webster has confirmed that he will make his Penrite ProMX return at QMP this weekend for round seven of the 2022 championship.

The reigning MX2 champion stepped up to the premier class this season and showed great speed across the opening four motos, holding the red plate after Mackay.

A training crash the following week saw Webster break his left foot and right ankle, with the number 96 completing his first laps back on the bike in mid-July, once cleared. He has now spent three weeks in his riding return and will compete in the final two rounds of ProMX.

“I’ve had a little over three weeks back on the bike, it’s been good, I’m definitely not back to where I was, I would say, but I’m just getting around and having some fun,” Webster told MotoOnline. “I feel like the last years with covid, really only doing a handful of races in the last three years now, for myself I want to do the last two.

“This time of the year, it’s fun, it’s the last couple, everyone is sort of excited about it and I just really wanted to do it. I don’t know exactly where I will be at, I think it will still be good and I will be able to have some fun with it and see what the weekend brings.”

Round seven of the series takes place this Sunday before ProMX moves to Coolum next weekend for its 2022 finale.
