Motorcycling Australia (MA) will launch a MXW Racing Academy at Coolum ahead of the 2022 Penrite ProMX Championship finals, set to expand further into next year with the support of Ezi-Lift.

The program will offer an advanced level coaching and mentor program for ProMX MXW competitors, with the initial Queensland event set to take place on Friday, 19 August from between 12:00-2:00pm.

Included will be guidance and coaching from professional riders, a group track walk, presentations from team managers and factory truck tours. Television host Kate Peck will speak on personal brand, social media and sponsorship.

“This program is another great initiative to get more women into the sport,” stated MA CEO Peter Doyle. “This has been framed and developed by women for women and has the support of the wider industry.

“It’s great to have the likes of Emma [Milesevic] and Charli [Cannon] doing well and flying the flag for the MXW class, but for the Ezi-Lift MXW class to flourish, we also want to see more competitors at the start gates. This is both a short-term and long-term goal.

“The Ezi-Lift MXW Racing Academy seeks to not only improve the skills and prospects of those already racing – and those who are on the fringes – but help to provide a pathway for the next wave of MXW superstars.”

Current MXW contenders Emma Milesevic and Charli Cannon are onboard as ambassadors of the MXW Racing Academy, while former MX1 champion Todd Waters, longtime international Brett Metcalfe and KTM Group motorsport manager Kyle Blunden will also be involved in the Coolum event.
