Honda Racing's retro liveries to celebrate brand's rich history

Special designs uncovered ahead of Coffs Harbour ProMX.

Honda Racing is the latest team to uncover its special liveries ahead of the retro round of 2022 Penrite ProMX at Coffs Harbour this weekend, with the designs paying homage to the brand’s successful history in competition.

In MX1, Dean Ferris’ CRF450R will showcase graphics inspired by Ezra Lusk, who competed for Honda in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s and achieved multiple podiums in AMA supercross.

Although Kyle Webster will not be competing at round six, his machine will be on display with a design themed around the 50th anniversary CRF450R, while MX2 leader Wilson Todd will run graphics that pay tribute to motocross legend Jeremy McGrath.

Cambell Williams will also sport a unique livery in MX3, with graphics inspired by those used in the first year that Honda Racing team owner Yarrive Konsky spent with the manufacturer.

“Honda’s global success has inspired and ignited competition,” Konsky explained. “Honda is the only manufacturer that has won in Formula 1, IndyCar, MotoGP, WorldSBK, Isle of Man, motocross and supercross.

“To be associated with them is very special and to be able to represent them throughout the world is an honour. We will pay homage to Honda teams throughout the world and to Honda for their fifty years in motocross this weekend.”
