Rounds seven and eight of the 2022 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship in Nowra, NSW, have been cancelled due to recent flooding throughout the region.

The decision was made after extensive consultation from the Oyster Bay Motorcycle Club and Motorcycling Australia (MA) official course assessor, with rainfall of late making it impossible to race-prep the tracks.

Event manager Matt Falvo explained: “The recent flooding in the region has made this a hugely difficult task. The Oyster Bay Motorcycle Club have been over the entire course and the photos speak for themselves. While a single bike might get through in a few weeks, once we have the entire field on the course, it will become impassable.”

No substitute event has been outlined, with the Nowra rounds originally scheduled for 6-7 August. The series will recommence in Kingston, SE, South Australia on 17-18 September.

ShopYamaha Off-Road Racing duo Kyron Bacon and Josh Green currently lead the E1 and E2 standings, as Simford Racing’s Andy Wilksch remains on top in E3.
