Yamaha has unveiled its retro liveries ahead of the sixth round of the 2022 Penrite ProMX Championship at Coffs Harbour, with CDR Yamaha Monster Energy, Serco Yamaha, Yamalube Yamaha and WBR Yamaha race teams to embrace the old-school theme.

CDR Yamaha will sport an 80’s inspired graphic and logo on points leader Aaron Tanti’s bike, bringing back memories of the brand’s first move from yellow to white and red.

“We have a range of partners within our team that makes something like this a little more challenging but we were happy to come up with a concept that worked for all parties and participate in a round that promises to be a lot of fun and a throwback to some old times with plenty of ex-riders and racers in attendance,” explained CDR team owner Craig Dack.

Serco Yamaha’s retro livery is also 80’s themed and will see Bailey Malkiewicz’s and Jesse Dobson’s YZ250Fs completely dressed in the iconic red and white, with a themed seat cover and rims to finish the look.

The Yamaha US design of 2004 inspired Yamalube Yamaha Racing’s retro livery, while WBR Yamaha will bring back a vision from the 90’s when the Yamaha team in Australia had just moved to be under the management of Craig Dack, and was also supported by Peter Jackson. A striking blue, yellow and red livery will be seen on its bikes.

Coffs Harbour will host the ‘retro’ round of Penrite ProMX this season on 24 July, with the inclusion of Pre-95 and Classic Evo Cup classes to see a host of vintage motocross racers and past champions take to the gate. Further livery reveals in line with the round’s theme are expected in the build-up to the event.
