Set for a Rockhampton return in 2022, the KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championship (AJMX) will take place in central Queensland and will see the country’s top junior riders compete for national title glory from 27 September to 1 October.

The past two years have seen the AJMX at Rockhampton cancelled due to coronavirus, as the Rockhampton and District Motorcycle Club (RADMX) are excited to see multiple years of planning finally come to fruition.

“It’s been three years in the making, and we can’t wait to see the gates finally drop at the Rockhampton and District Motocross Club in September,” KTM motorsport manager Kyle Blunden explained. The club has been doing an excellent job up there, and with consistent updates to their facility, it will put on a fantastic event.

“The KTM AJMX is such a great event that encapsulates what we all love about motorcycle sport. With the family atmosphere in the pits and fierce racing out on track, it’s an excellent platform for the future motocross stars to showcase their ability as they transition through the junior ranks.”

The last running of the AJMX took place at Gillman in 2019, the three-year gap between events is sure to see new contenders emerge in each category when the gate drops later this year.
