Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha has announced they’ve re-signed Jeremy Martin to their 250 program for 2022.

Martin’s 2021 season has been plagued by injury from the first gate drop of the year, with a crash in the opening lap of the Monster Energy Supercross season ending his bid for the 250SX West title.

While he entered the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship with lingering injuries and has missed some action, Martin has put up impressive fights since his return, taking home wins at both Spring Creek and Washougal.

Where Martin would land next season was a looming question as the season wore on, but confirmation came today from Star Racing, as the ink has dried on a new contract between the two for 2022.

“I’m really excited to be back with Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing for 2022,” Martin explained. “I haven’t had the year I was hoping for, so I’m very grateful to do what I love and have another opportunity to race my butt off for some championships next year.

“The team and I have had a lot of success together over the years, and we look to build on that.”

Martin returned to the Star Racing team at the end of last season when the Geico Honda team called it quits, putting him back with the team that helped him bring home back-to-back 250MX championships in 2014 and 2015.

Martin’s plan at the onset of the 2021 season was to finish out the year on a 250 and head to the 450 class starting in 2022, but injury has prevented the switch.
