South Australia has been shifted to be the final round of the 2021 Penrite ProMX Championship in September following this week’s covid-19 outbreak in Sydney, Motorcycling Australia (MA) has announced.

The round at Gillman was initially scheduled to be held on 30 May, but was postponed due to SA Government border restrictions, and a tentative rescheduled date of 11 July has also now been scrapped.

Instead, the event has been rescheduled again for 5 September and will take over the final round from its traditional home at Coolum on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

According to MA, fans who had already purchased tickets to the Gillman round will be able to use them later in the year when the championship-deciding final round is expected to go ahead in SA.

The SA Government is currently prohibiting people who have been in New South Wales recently from entry, a regulation which also applies to those who have been in Victorian Tier 1 and Tier 2 public exposure sites at relevant times.
