SB Motorsports Ecstar Suzuki revealed a new-look line-up for the 2020 MXstore MX Nationals and Australian Supercross Championship, confirming the signing of Connor Tierney and Brodie Ellis.

Tierney, 21, will pilot the Suzuki RM-Z450 after campaigning in the premier class outdoors last year, where a health issue saw him complete just the back half of the season.

“It’s great to be a part of the SB Motorsports Ecstar Suzuki team,” Tierney commented. “It’s been a really smooth transition to the RM-Z450, I feel like the bike’s handling really compliments my riding style well.

“We’ve been working hard with the team and Steve from SPMX to get everything dialled in for me. I’m healthy, feeling fit and can’t wait to head to Horsham.”

Tasmanian Ellis will graduate to the MX2 category in 2020 aboard the Suzuki RM-Z250, the 19-year-old coming off a promising year in MXD that saw him claim multiple podium results.

“I’m excited to step up to MX2 this year with the support from SB Motorsports Ecstar Suzuki team and Cycleworld Suzuki,” Ellis said. “The bike and team have both been awesome so far, I’m really looking forward to round one and getting the season started.”

SB Motorsports team owner Scott Brewster shared his excitement in welcoming Tierney and Ellis to the squad for the 2020 race season, and believes that this year will see continued growth and successes in their second year as a Suzuki-backed effort.

“We are very pleased to be able to finally announce that Connor and Brodie will be joining us this year,” Brewster stated. “As a team, we had a great first season with Suzuki last year with a string of podium finishes and we aim to build upon that this year with the boys.”

The MX Nationals kicks off on 4-5 April at Horsham in Victoria.
