Dual Broken Hill AORC class victories for KTM Enduro Racing Team

KTM Australia press release:

KTM Enduro Racing Team’s Daniel Milner and Lyndon Snodgrass won their respective categories at Broken Hill’s seventh round of the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC).

Equipped with the KTM 450 EXC-F, Milner qualified fastest in the E2 division at end of Saturday’s prologue with a 5m19.074s lap-time and then went on to win today with a total time of 3h32m38.447s in windy, dry weather conditions.

Teammate Lyndon Snodgrass also managed to rise to the occasion in the New South Wales desert, piloting his KTM 250 EXC-F to the E1 victory at 3h33m53.624s. Collectively, Milner’s time was second-fastest outright and Snodgrass placed third overall.

In terms of the championship, reigning national champion Milner continues to lead E2 following another comfortable class win, while Snodgrass is currently positioned second in the E1 points with two round wins to his credit.

The 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) continues with rounds eight and nine of the season at Coonalpyn, South Australia, between 31 August-1 September. Visit www.ktm.com/au for further information on KTM Australia.

Glenn Kearney – Motorsports Manager, KTM Australia: “It was a strong weekend in extreme conditions with the wind and dust, as both Milner and Snodgrass were able to win their classes and get on the podium outright. Today was a three and a half hour Cross Country, which was shortened, and the riders started with intervals between them. All in all, it went well for the KTM Enduro Racing Team, both riders put in a strong showing and we were really happy to see both riders on top of the podium in their classes.”

Daniel Milner – KTM 450 EXC-F: “It was a good weekend, especially because of how dry it’s been in the area. They haven’t even had any rain since last year when we were there, so it was really dry and difficult. It was a sketchy race, I’d say, and it’s so different to every other round but I think it’s good to have a desert race in the Australian championship. It took some time for me to get going, but I picked the pace up as the race went on and was able to get to second outright and first in class, so we were happy with that for the round.”

Lyndon Snodgrass – KTM 250 EXC-F: “Today was good and I knew what we had to do, so I managed to come through and grab the class win, as well as an overall podium. We’re going forward on the KTM 250 EXC-F all the time, working hard to get as comfortable as I can and I’m really starting to feel at home in E1. Finishing up there outright this weekend in the desert really shows how strong the bike is on a really fast, sketchy track!”
