Detailed: 2020 Bell Moto-9 Flex helmet

Premium dirt bike helmet now available in fresh 2020 colourways.

Bell Powersports Australia recently unveiled its 2020 range of motorcycle helmets, including its premium Moto-9 Flex model that offers superior protection and comfort.

Bell is committed to providing purpose-built solutions that provide across-the-board head protection for the modern rider. So when it came to evolving the race proven Moto-9, it wanted to re-think fit and build on the helmet’s longstanding ability to manage energy.

When it came to testing, the initial Flex samples outperformed any other motocross helmet Bell has tested to date. The result is no accident, the Moto-9 Flex is the most advanced helmet Bell has ever made and is quickly setting a new level for rider protection in motocross and off-road racing.

The Flex impact liner offers progressive layering – a first-of-its kind, three-layer impact liner designed to manage energy from three potential impact scenarios: low, mid and high-speed.

It has a segmented construction, automatically conforming to a rider’s head for a better fit and more predictable energy management, while a ‘slip zone’ within the impact liner allows for subtle movement between the inner layers and work to reduce rotational energy transfer from angular impacts.

With the new segmented and flexible liner, Bell was able to add to the proven Velocity Flow Ventilation system to make an even cooler helmet The proven 3K carbon fibre shell on the Moto-9 Flex gives this helmet the look, performance, and feel of a true race helmet

Using advanced flow dynamics modelling, precise port placement and internal channeling, Bell engineers have created a powerful natural engine that sucks cool air through the front of the helmet, circulated it over the rider’s head and blows warm flow out the back, keeping the riders cool and dry

Magnefusion cheek pads allows for easy removal of the pads for washing and enables emergency responders to easily remove the cheek pads first before removing the helmet following an impact. A leader in antimicrobial fabric technology, X-Static material is clinically-proven to provide bacteria and odor protection throughout the life of the liner. X-Static fibers are permanently bonded with a layer of 99.9 percent pure metallic silver.

With no centre mount screw on the visor, the energy of an impact is channeled through the flexible visor acting as a crumple zone and away from the helmet and riders head.

Quick Flip Visor Screws make on the fly visor adjustment a simple task even with gloves on. The absence of the centre attachment point allows uninterrupted airflow over the top of the helmet, improving the function of its ventilation system.

The Moto-9 Flex is also compatible with Eject systems, designed for a safer removal of the helmet through the use of an inflatable bag installed in the helmet. This pocket is recessed into the EPS liner for a snug fit without disturbing premium rider fit.

Priced from RRP $849.95, the 2020 Bell Moto-9 Flex range is now available at dealerships and online retailers across the country. For more information, visit www.bellhelmets.com.
