Supercross and motocross legend Ricky Carmichael has been added to the world class line-up for the 2019 Monster Energy AUS-X Open Melbourne, set to be hosted at Marvel Stadium on 30 November.

Carmichael, known as the greatest of all time (GOAT), has appeared at AUS-X Open on two occasions in 2015 and 2017, and will return to the country to race the prestigious event.

“I’m so pumped to return down under for the AUS-X Open in 2019, and this time to Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, somewhere I’ve always wanted to ride at,” Carmichael stated.

“Returning in 2019 was an easy decision – I love Australia, the fans are amazing, and this time to be able to race at Marvel Stadium is such an amazing venue I’m so excited to get down and put a show on for the fans.

“Plus with the addition of Chad and the world class line-up so far announced – I’m just as excited as a fan to see the battles unfold – if you are a supercross fan from wherever in the world, you won’t want to miss this!”

The list of international stars currently includes Australian fan-favourite Chad Reed (JGRMX Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing) alongside Americans Justin Brayton (Penrite Honda Racing) and Joey Savatgy (Monster Energy Kawasaki).

The largest international supercross and action sports event in the world outside of the USA, the AUS-X Open Melbourne will feature the world’s best riders going head-to-head on a full-sized world championship-spec supercross track for the first time ever inside Marvel Stadium.
