Yamaha sponsors SX in the Gong

Yamaha Motor Australia press release:

Yamaha Motor Australia is pleased to announce naming rights sponsorship of the third round of the 2019 Australian Supercross Championship to be held at Wollongong’s iconic WIN Stadium on Saturday 9 November 2019.

“Supercross in NSW is set for a huge boost when Australia’s best racers take on international riders on a full-size track racing the exciting Triple Crown Format in both SX1 and SX2 classes,” says event organiser and three-time World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss. “WIN Stadium is the perfect size with the crowd so close to the action. The stadium layout will be unique with a section of the track heading up onto the iconic hill,” he adds.

The outdoor event will host another round of YMA’s successful YZ65 Cup, which offers young riders an unforgettable introduction to dirt bike competition. “YMA is excited to be major sponsor of this event which will showcase our race teams as they battle for supremacy in the VictorYZone. Plus the Wollongong SX is another opportunity to host the 65 Cup– the grass roots race series designed to give young guns their first taste of the big time by racing in front of their supercross heroes and up to 20,000 fans,” explains YMA’s bLU cRU marketing and events co-ordinator Nick Marshall.

Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to test a huge range of Yamaha marine and land-based products with two and four wheels. More information will be available soon.
