Brett Metcalfe will draw upon his home crowd at Port Adelaide’s penultimate round of the 2018 Australian Supercross Championship this Saturday evening as he endeavours to earn a season-first overall victory in South Australia.

The Penrite Honda Racing contender has been incredibly consistent in his supercross campaign, finishing second in the first three rounds of the season to teammate and two-time defending champion Justin Brayton, which has only fuelled his fire to earn an elusive P1 placing.

The number 24 was able to overcome the American import in race two of last weekend’s Triple Crown format, but fell short in the overall points for the round. He’s hopeful that with his friends and family on-hand, plus the South Australian fans, will provide a boost in his performance.

“This is my home race – my kids, brother, sister and family will be there and I want to do my best for them and everyone involved,” Metcalfe explained. “It’s very special for me to race in front of my two boys, they are my world.

“Justin [Brayton] is world class – he won the toughest race in America this year against the best supercross riders in the world, but I will give it my all to beat him. I’m motivated to win and hope the home crowd will get behind me and cheer me on to do so.”

Metcalfe is positioned second in the standings as he sits on 66 points, trailing series leader Brayton by nine markers with just two stops left in the five-round championship.
