Home round for Metcalfe this weekend in Adelaide

Honda Australia press release:

Penrite Honda Racing’s Brett Metcalfe aims to shine at round 4 of the Australian Supercross Championship, in his home town of Adelaide, South Australia.

Metcalfe has finished 2 nd overall in the opening three rounds but hopes to be on top of the box this weekend in front of his home crowd, most notably with his family and two boys cheering him on.

“This is my home race, my kids, brother, sister and family will be there and I want to do my best for them and everyone involved. It’s very special for me to race in front of my two boys, they are my world,” said Metcalfe.

Each week Metcalfe displays consistency in his riding and his results but sees this round as his opportunity to take it up a notch against teammate Justin Brayton.

“Justin is world class. He won the toughest race in America this year against the best Supercross riders in the world but I will give it my all to beat him. I’m motivated to win and hope the home crowd will get behind me and cheer me on to do so,” continued Metcalfe.

Following the weekend, Brayton returned to Queensland to recover after a stomach bug plagued him in the lead up to round 3. He aims to come into round 4 healthy.

“I’ve said this before and I will say it again, there is a lot of racing still to be done and anything can happen with the three race finals formats. I want to win as does everyone who lines up so I will keep doing what I am doing and keep my focus on the Championship,” said Brayton.

Round 4 of the Australian Supercross is at Gilman Speedway, Gilman, South Australia. For more information go to www.hondamx.com.au or www.australiansupercross.com.au
