Osby and Raceline Pirelli KTM aiming for more after Geelong SX

Raceline Pirelli KTM press release:

Raceline Pirelli KTM’s Josh Osby has finished just outside the top ten in the talented SX2 category after an up and down weekend at Round 3 of the Australian Supercross Championship in Geelong.

The first triple crown event of the season was held indoors at the GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night, with three races counting towards one overall score for the evening.

After qualifying in 13th place in Geelong, Osby was determined to turn things around when racing got underway, and in the first final that’s exactly what the American did -making his way through the field to finish in a comfortable sixth place.

However the last two races in Geelong proved to be somewhat of a challenge for the KTM mounted rider, Osby recording 20-10 race finishes which left him in 12th overall for the round.

Despite finishing just outside of the top ten at Round 3 of the Australian Supercross Championship in Geelong, Osby sits in 10th in the SX2 Championship standings with two rounds of racing remaining.

“I really enjoyed the triple crown format, I think the racing is exciting and it’s great for the fans,” Osby shared.

“The weekend was looking not too bad for me, but unfortunately I had a crash in the whoops on the second last lap in one of the main events and it really cost me.

“In saying that, I thought the venue was awesome! It reminded me a lot of what we have in the U.S for Supercross. Unfortunately the track was pretty small and only offered a small selection of passing spots so that was the one downfall for the shorter races.

“I am far from happy or satisfied with this past weekend’s results. I flew back to be with the team this weekend so I’m really hoping with the help of them I can get back up where I know I can be.

“After round one, I felt we could be better so I went after a few changes to the bike. Unfortunately sometimes with changes comes confusion and lack of confidence. I am going back to the setting we had at round one and hopefully that will bring the confidence I need to get back on the podium.”

Raceline Pirelli KTM will now prepare for the fourth round of the Australian Supercross Championship which will take place at Port Adelaide in South Australia on October 20, 2018.
