DPH Motorsport Husqvarna has revealed it will switch to the 2019 specification FC 250 for the upcoming Australian Supercross Championship, which is set to commence this weekend at Jimboomba in Queensland.

The 2019 Husqvarna boasts a range of major upgrades, including significant improvements throughout its suspension, chassis and engine package that make for a competitive SX2 contender.

The team has once again enlisted Hayden Mellross to join Dylan Wills for the duration of the five-stop series, with Saturday’s season-opener set to mark his debut aboard Husqvarna machinery after a strong campaign in both the Monster Energy AMA Supercross and Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross championships.

“I’ve been home for two weeks now and it’s been great,” said Mellross. “Seeing my family and friends and riding in my own backyard, doing what I love .

“I’m lucky to be in the position I am with great support with market-leading brands and products around me and a solid opportunity to succeed, so I’m working hard to give back to everyone that’s behind the team and myself when that gate drops.”

The New South Wales native enters the SX2 category as the title favourite, his last two campaigns in the series both ending in heartbreak while in control of the championship rankings.
