The field for the 2018 Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations (MXoN) is beginning to take shape with a host of team announcements in recents days for the 7 October event at RedBud in the United States of the America.

Chamberlain Trophy contenders and host country Team USA unveiled its line-up on Saturday, confirming Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki) will captain Aaron Plessinger (Monster Energy Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha) and Justin Barcia (Monster Energy Yamaha) in a highly-competitive squad.

Current MXGP championship leader Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) will spearhead The Netherlands’ efforts alongside Calvin Vlaanderen (Honda HRC) and Glenn Coldenhoff (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), while Team France, Belgium, Germany and New Zealand confirmed their line ups last week.

In a bizarre announcement, Travis Pastrana (Travis Pastrana), Ryan Sipes (Husqvarna), and Ronnie Mac (Honda) will race for Team Puerto Rico aboard two-stroke machinery in an effort to raise funds for several organisations that are providing assistance for the nation that was devastated by Hurricane Maria last year.

Team Australia is yet to be confirmed, however if history repeats itself, an announcement can be expected before the end of the month.
