Fresh after finishing an incredible second in the Pirelli MX Nationals MX1 standings in just his first 450 campaign, Mitch Evans has voiced his goals for the 2019 season, taking aim at the premier class crown.

The youthful talent, who represented Australia at the Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in 2016, lodged a number of impressive results this year, landing on the podium four times in the 10-stop series, most recently finishing up second overall at Coolum’s finale.

“It feels awesome to wrap up the season with such an awesome result,” Evans commented. “When we set our goals for the season we knew that we wanted to be somewhere inside that top three, so to pull it all off and finish second in my rookie year is an awesome achievement.

“Moving to the KTM was a big and exciting change for me in 2018, I spent so many years as a junior on their bikes so to come back and have such a successful season on the KTM 450 SX-F is really cool. The Raceline Pirelli KTM team has been such a massive support, they have made me feel right at home, and to reward those guys with a MX1 championship podium finish, especially when they aren’t one of the big factory teams feels great.

“We definitely achieved what we planned to in the 2018 motocross season and I feel like in 2019 we have a real shot at the title, so there will be lots of work being put in between now and then.”

The Raceline Pirelli KTM ace will shift his attention to the Australian Supercross Championship, scheduled to commence on 15 September at Jimboomba in Queensland.
