Bulk Nutrients WBR Yamaha’s Bailey Malkiewicz has strengthened his MXD points lead today at Gladstone’s ninth round of the Pirelli MX Nationals as he stormed to two moto victories.

In moto one, Malkiewicz dominated proceedings, storming to a commanding 22.261s victory over Husqvarna-mounted privateer Riley Dukes in the 11-lap encounter.

Jayce Cosford (Yamaha) rounded out the podium in third a further five seconds behind, while the top five was completed by John Bova (KTM) and Brodie Ellis (Yamaha).

The second and final outing was all about Malkiewicz once again despite a challenge from his Bulk Nutrients WBR Yamaha teammate Hugh McKay, who eventually wound up in second.

Ride Red Honda’s Rhys Budd fought hard for a well-earned third ahead of Cosford and Bova, while overall it was Malkiwicz followed by Cosford and Dukes.

The 125cc Juniors saw Levi Rogers (Yamaha) emerge victorious on the day ahead of eventual championship victor Blake Fox (KTM) and Corben Weinert (Husqvarna), as Alex Larwood (Yamaha) and Ricky Chalmers completed the first five.

The MX Nationals will now head to Coolum on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland for the 10th and final round of the 2018 championship.
