Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jeffrey Herlings has boosted his points lead after claiming yet another dominant victory at Semarang’s 13th round of the MXGP World Championship in Indonesia.

The Dutchman proved to be unstoppable as he recorded two commanding race wins, bumping his advantage in the standings to 24 markers over defending champion Antonio Cairoli (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing)

Former champion Tim Gajser (Honda HRC) was second overall with 2-3 results, defeating Monster Energy Kawasaki Factory Racing’s Clement Desalle by a slender two points.

The top five was rounded out by Cairoli and Tommy Searle (Monster Energy Kawasaki Factory Racing), while Australians Todd Waters (Honda HRC) and Lewis Stewart (Husqvarna) were 13th and 18th respectively.

The MX2 category was taken out by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado following a stunning 2-1 scorecard, placing him equal on points in the standings with Pauls Jonass (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who was runner-up on the day.

Third was credited Calvin Vlaanderen (Honda HRC) followed by Ben Watson (Kemea Yamaha Official MX2 Team) and Thomas Covington (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing), while Aussie wildcard Jy Roberts (Husqvarna) was 14th overall. Compatriot Morgan Fogarty (KTM) experienced technical issues in qualifying, which ultimately denied him the chance of lining up in Sunday’s two motos.

The MXGP World Championship will return to action on 22 July at Loket in the Czech Republic.
