Strong return to MX Nationals for Penrite Pirelli CRF Honda Racing

Honda Australia press release:

Penrite-Pirelli CRF Honda Racing riders Kyle Webster and new recruit Kale Makem hit the ground running at round 6 of the MX Nationals on the weekend.

Under perfect conditions, Qualifying kicked off with both Webster and Makeham finishing in the top 10, with Makeham in an impressive P5 and Webster in P8.

Both riders suffered poor starts in Moto 1, working hard to make their way up the field resulting in a P5 and P11 for Webster and Makeham respectively.

Moto 2 was a different story for Webster, showing strong form to secure P3 in the moto and walking away with a podium finish for the day.

“We’ve had a great mid-season prep so I was really hoping for better results today. I found it difficult to dial the track in. Metty pulled me up after Moto 1 and gave me some solid advice that really helped and I felt much better in Moto 2,” claimed Webster.

Makeham also put in a better ride in Moto 2, even though he again suffered from a poor start, he managed to move up to P8.

“I’m okay with today’s result but not satisfied. I know I am better than that and want to prove it to myself and the team that has given me this opportunity,” said Makeham.

Webster remains in P5 for the championship but is now much closer to the leaders only 20 points away from 2 nd overall. Makeham has moved from 10 th to 9 th and looks to keep moving up the field on his new CRF250R.

The next round is the double at Raymond Terrace on July 14/15 where the team will have their CRF Honda’s in full retro graphics by SK Designs.
