Youthful Queensland talent Jesse Dobson will make his Pirelli MX Nationals debut with the KSF Ecstar Suzuki outfit this weekend at Conondale’s sixth round of the series.

A dislocated shoulder in the lead-up to the opening stop of the MX Nationals in April forced Dobson to undergo surgery, prompting him to miss the first half of the Australian championship.

The number 414, who last raced an MX Nationals event over 12 months ago at Conondale, is feeling confident ahead of the Sunday’s event, acknowledging his lack of seat time during race conditions will ultimately result in a gradual return of form.

“I’m pretty excited to be back, I feel like it’s been a while,” Dobson told MotoOnline.com.au. “My last motocross race was at Conondale last year, so I’m going to be a little rusty, but I feel pretty good to be back.

“I’ve been on the bike for six weeks, so it’s enough, but I’m obviously not going to be in the best form – these guys have been racing all year and they’re five rounds ahead of me. The plan is to ease back into it and get the ball rolling.

“If I ride like I know how to, I should be towards the front-end of the field – I don’t see myself battling with Dean, Gibbsy, Mitch and Clouty, but if I can run with those guys for a few laps and stick with them, I should be able to get some solid results on the board.”

Dobson’s last outing at Conondale saw him collect 6-6 moto scores, crediting him seventh overall in his sole outdoors appearance of the year.
