Defending Lucas Oil Pro Motocross champion Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki) has earned his fifth-straight overall victory in the 2018 series, charging to a 1-3 scorecard at Muddy Creek’s fifth round.

Tomac recorded a strong start in the opening affair before making a move on Ken Roczen (Honda HRC) for the lead, ultimately taking the win, while race two was a much different story after being buried in the pack, bouncing back for third.

Justin Barcia (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing) continued his solid string of results, going 2-2 for second overall, as Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Marvin Musquin closed out the podium in third with a race win to his credit. Roczen was fourth followed by Blake Baggett (Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM) in fifth.

In the 250MX category, TLD Red Bull KTM’s Shane McElrath secured his maiden victory in a chaotic weekend, with 3-2 moto scores rewarding him with the top spot.

Monster Energy Yamalube Star Yamaha’s Dylan Ferrandis wound up in second with a moto win to his name, finishing the day four points clear of Geico Honda’s Chase Sexton.

TLD Red Bull KTM duo Alex Martin and Jordon Smith concluded the top five, while race one winner Jeremy Martin (Geico Honda) crashed of the second outing after colliding with a rider, resulting in a fractured L1 vertebrae. Points leader Aaron Plessinger (Monster Energy Yamalube Star Yamaha) also had a forgettable weekend, winding up in the seventh overall.

Australian Hayden Mellross (CycleTrader Rock River Yamaha) was 20th overall in his return from injury, posting 22-15 race results at the challenging circuit. The Pro Motocross Championship will now head to the notorious Southwick venue on 30 June for round six of the series.
