A revitalised Triple Crown format has been revealed for the 2018 Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney, to be staged over a single night at Qudos Bank Arena on Saturday, 10 November.

Event organisers AME Management confirmed this morning that AUS-X Open will continue for a fourth-straight year, with title sponsor Monster Energy returning for its second term.

“Every year we’ve ensured the Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney evolves as a greater spectacle for our fans and this year’s no different as we’re planning to bring more energy and more excitement to the event than ever before,” explained event co-founder and director Adam Bailey.

“We’ll be bringing in the world’s best riders to take on Australia’s best and will be tweaking the track layout again to guarantee some of the most epic racing on the planet right here in Sydney. We’ve drastically changed the racing format, to make Saturday’s racing the most jam-packed and full of action, than ever before.

“In a triple-header format, fans will see the best in the world battle bar-to-bar three times, rather than the previous one main event only format. It’s literally three times the high-intensity racing action, jammed into Saturday’s program. We urge all fans to book early and sign up to our pre-sale database to avoid missing out on this year’s event.”

Last year saw over 27,000 fans pack the stands across two days in Sydney as newly-crowned AMA Supercross champion Jason Anderson became the first American to capture the AUS-X Open title. The event also reached over 70-million fans worldwide through AUS-X Open-produced content showcased on both social and traditional media platforms.

“The AUS-X Open is hugely popular and we expect around 11,000 visitors will travel to NSW for this year’s event, injecting approximately $6.7 million into the NSW visitor economy,” NSW minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall stated. “With plenty to see and do in Western Sydney and the surrounding Blue Mountains region, this event promises both heart-stopping action and the opportunity to explore this wonderful region of NSW.”

This year’s AUS-X Open will once again feature pyrotechnics, light and sound and first-class entertainment values, all indoors in the comfort of Qudos Bank Arena, with a pit paddock area accessible on the outside of the arena for all motorsport fans to get up close and personal with their favourite teams and riders.

The international athlete roster is yet to be announced alongside additional details of the on-track schedule, plus more. Signing up for the VIP Members Pre-sale Database ensures first preference of all seating for the 2018 AUS-X Open.
