Active8 Yamalube Yamaha’s Luke Styke continues his perfect transition to enduro after going 1-1 in class at the Hedley round of the Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) over the weekend.

Styke has proven dominant in E1 on-board his factory-backed WR250F, maintaining his unbeaten streak through two AORC events and last month’s Australian Four-Day Enduro. He was also credited third outright on Sunday.

“I loved the weekend and the Sprint format works well for me,” Styke said. ““It was just like doing 20-minute motocross races on Saturday and Sunday was the same, just a little bit shorter. Although it was dry and dusty, I liked the dirt in the area and it was fun to ride – it would have been perfect if there was some more moisture to it.

“My WR250F ran perfectly all weekend and the team continues to do a great job. I’m really happy I have made the switch to off-road and I’m enjoying the challenge of racing different terrain, with different riders on different bikes.”

With four of 11 AORC rounds complete in Styke’s rookie campaign, the former national MX2 champion has extended his points lead to 18 points ahead of fellow ex-motocross regular Jack Simpson and factory Husqvarna newcomer Fraser Higlett.
