Monster Energy Yamaha’s Cooper Webb will undergo further scans on Monday to confirm the extent of a fractured tibia sustained in the Minneapolis round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross.

Webb was involved in a multi-rider incident on the opening lap of the first 450SX Triple Crown final, ruling him out of the running for the remainder of the night and possibly the season.

“Last night in Minneapolis I was involved with some carnage in the rhythm section right off the start and I ended up getting landed on in the first main event of the night,” Webb recalled. “I ended up with a fractured tibia as of now. Have an appointment Monday with an ortho to see the final word.”

It’s been a challenging year of sorts for the Monster Energy Yamaha organisation, with Justin Barcia only just returning from injury at round 14 to place fifth overall. Webb is currently eighth in the point-standings.
