The Pirelli MX Nationals championship has welcomed an assortment of high-profile commercial partners ahead of the 2018 season, which commences at Newry in Victoria this Sunday, 15 April.

Headed by incoming title sponsor Pirelli, the eight-event/10-round series continues to attract a selection of the sport’s most recognised brands as the Australian Motocross Championship operated by Williams Event Management. Pirelli is also the title sponsor of MX2.

GAS Imports will also remain an integral supporter of the championship this season, with Thor featuring as the title sponsor of the premier MX1 class, while also being the presenting partner of rounds five (Murray Bridge, SA) and nine (Gladstone, QLD).

Yamaha Motor Australia will be the presenting partner of rounds two (Appin, NSW), seven and eight (Maitland, NSW), while also featuring as the naming-rights sponsor for the 125cc Gold Cup, Rising Star Rookies, 125cc Junior Class and Amateur Cup.

Yamaha Motor Finance will be the presenting partner of round six (Conondale, QLD) and Yamaha Motor Insurance has secured the presenting partnership for Coolum, Queensland’s championship finals at round 10.

This weekend’s opening round at Newry, VIC, will be presented by Kawasaki Motors Australia, as Honda Motorcycles Australia is presenting rounds three and four of the championship – the first of the double-header weekends at Wonthaggi, VIC.

Additional commercial sponsorships confirmed in the lead-up include Raceline, Motul as the title sponsor of MXD, KTM, Husqvarna, SP Tools, MX Store, Forma Boots, Scott Goggles, Polisport, RK Chains, EBC and Stomp Grip, as MotoOnline.com.au remains an official digital media partner for the season ahead.

This year’s championship is shaping up to be one of the most competitive on record, with 32 riders entered for MX1, 31 in MX2, 52 within MXD and the 125cc Gold Cup support category has 18 entries on the eve of round one at Newry.
