Aleksi Jukola (KTM) and Eero Remes (TM Factory Racing) have battled through the snow at the opening round of the 2018 Maxxis EnduroGP World Championship in Finland, taking home overall victories on days one and two respectively.

On day one, the EnduroGP class was dominated by Finnish riders, as Toni Eriksson (KTM) and Mika Tamminen charged to second and third, while Australian Matt Phillips (Sherco) endured issues that resulted in a DNF.

In the E1 division, Yamaha-mounted Jamie McCanney defeated Jussi Arvaja (Sherco) and Brad Freeman (Beta) for the top spot, as the E2 class was taken out by Remes, followed Matti Oikari (Honda) and Alex Salvini (Husqvarna).

Jukola was granted the win in the E3 category ahead of Eriksson and Tamminen, matching the day’s top three overall EnduroGP results. Day two saw a mix in the EnduroGP class, as Remes stormed to the front, clinching victory over Eemil Pohjola (Gas Gas) and opening day victor Jukola.

Pohjola added an E1 win to his name in the process, edging out Henry Olenius (Honda) while Freeman backed up his third place result. In E2, Remes defeated Salvini for victory followed by Phillips, who overcame a tough opening day to seal third.

Jukola made it two-straight wins in E3, beating Beta Factory Racing duo Erikkson and Steve Holcombe. The next round of the EnduroGP series is set for 27-29 April in Spain.
