Raceline Pirelli KTM ready for AUS-X Open

Raceline Pirelli KTM press release:

The biggest Supercross event in the country, the AUS-X Open is set to come to life at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney this weekend, and both Raceline Pirelli KTM SX2 riders Jay Wilson and Morgan Fogarty are preparing to head indoors.

The event, which will mark the first and only double header of the series, attracts thousands of spectators and the most talented riders on the planet, and this Saturday and Sunday Wilson and Fogarty will line up against the very best in the business.

Despite not meeting his expectations at the last round in South Australia, Wilson is keen to get indoors and redeem himself, and will be drawing on his international experience when gates drop this weekend.

“This weekend is huge. It’s not only a big weekend for us as the riders but for the industry and the sport and I’m very proud to be a part of it,” Wilson shared.

“One thing I’ve learnt is that at an indoor event a lot can happen, so it’s very important to get a good start and get out off the carnage, especially on the tighter arena track.

“I’ve had a lot of experience now racing indoors, and I’m also lucky enough that at the Arenacross and the GP’s we started off mesh which is going to be a big change for a lot of people this weekend.

“We still have half of the series left to run so I’ll be using every opportunity I can to make up points and finish this championship off where I want to be.”

For Fogarty, the AUS-X Open will be the biggest event so far in his career, and shared that he too is looking forward to finally having the opportunity to fulfil his dream of competing indoors.

“AUS-X Open this weekend and I’m feeling awesome – I’ve always wanted to race this event,” Fogarty shared

“It’s my first ever indoor race also. I’ve been preparing for this weekend by just doing my thing and riding a lot of tight tracks.

“I don’t have any expectations, I just want to do my best and enjoy the experience.”

The fourth and fifth rounds of the 2017 Australian Supercross Championship, the AUS-X Open will take place at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney this Saturday and Sunday November 11-12.
