Wilson and Fogarty confident ahead of South Australia

Raceline Pirelli KTM press release:

Raceline Pirelli KTM’s SX2 riders Jay Wilson and Morgan Fogarty are preparing to head to South Australia for the third round of the 2017 Australian Supercross Championship which takes place at Virginia this Saturday night.

With round three marking the half way point in the series, Saturday’s event will prove crucial in terms of securing championship points, and both Wilson and Forgarty are chasing improved results.

Wilson, who has finished fourth and fifth overall at the first two rounds of the championship so far, shared that he’s made further improvements throughout the last two weeks and will be looking for another consistent finish in South Australia.

“In Melbourne I was sick and we made the best of a tough situation, but this weekend I’m feeling healthy and prepared,” Wilson shared.

“I’m in a solid position in this championship so the plan is to maintain or improve that on Saturday night.

“I’ve had some really good days on the bike throughout the last two weeks and myself and the team have made some further improvements which I’m feeling good about. I’m looking forward to getting to Adelaide and going racing again.”

Rookie SX2 rider Fogarty, who finished just outside the top ten at his debut Supercross appearance in Melbourne, says that this weekend his goal is to make it through to his second main event for the season.

“It’s the second race back for me and I’m feeling better than ever, I definitely learnt a lot from Bacchus Marsh with race craft and just how intense the racing is,” Fogarty shared.

“I’ve been continuing my training program with just more time on the bike.

“My expectations are just make it to the main and get through the main, then once again just get better each weekend.”

The 2017 Australian Supercross Championship will continue at Virginia in South Australia on Saturday October 28.
